MANS staff from Łomża develop their competences in Spain through the UPSKILLING project
Teaching staff at the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża are consistently developing their competences internationally. Under the UPSKILLING project, our lecturers took part in a training visit to Spain, aimed not only at improving their professional qualifications but also at gaining new experiences and exchanging knowledge and good practices in modern education.
During the visit, we visited the University of Alicante and the University of Murcia. Meetings with representatives of these universities helped us better understand how the Spanish higher education system works, and learn about innovative teaching methods, approaches to working with students and solutions supporting the development of practical and digital competences.
The programme included workshops, presentations and expert discussions, enabling an in-depth analysis of the challenges facing contemporary education. Particular attention was paid to internationalisation, the use of new technologies in teaching, and building effective relationships between universities and the labour market.
The mobility also provided an opportunity to establish valuable international contacts that may lead to future research and teaching cooperation. The knowledge and experience gained will be used to further improve our educational offer, so that it responds even better to the needs of students and the modern labour market.

More than 700 school students attended the “Science–Work–Education” panel at MANS in Łomża
More than 700 school students visited the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża during the second “Science–Work–Education” guidance and educational panel. The event offered an opportunity to explore career and education pathways and engage directly with the academic community.
Participants attended inspiring lectures and practical workshops led by lecturers and experts. The sessions aimed to help young people make informed decisions about their further education and careers.
We are delighted by the strong interest in the event and the students’ active engagement.

The UPSKILLING project out in the community!
Today we had the great pleasure of visiting @Zespół Szkół w Niećkowie, where we met fantastic and highly engaged young people. We talked about the value of investing in yourself, acquiring new skills and making informed plans for the future – including in sectors so important to the region, such as agriculture, civil engineering and logistics.
Our visit is part of the “UPSKILLING – support for MANS students and staff in Łomża” project, funded by the European Union through the European Funds for Social Development (FERS) programme.
🎯 What do we do in the project?
UPSKILLING is a comprehensive programme for developing students’ and staff qualifications. Through it, we:
• modify degree curricula to meet market needs,
• create modern educational content (including VR!),
• organise vocational and language courses,
• help students enter the labour market through domestic and international traineeships,
• provide remedial classes and psychological and educational support,
• work with upper-secondary schools to inspire the next generation to continue learning.
Thank you to the young people of Niećkowo for a great meeting and inspiring conversations! 💙
