KU-MASZ – an innovative multifunctional machine for maize cultivation

A research and development project focused on a multifunctional machine for fertilisation, cover-crop sowing, weed control and protection of soil, water and climate in maize cultivation.

European Union flag.
Rural Development Programme 2014–2020.

“European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural areas”

Operation entitled:

“Innovative technical solutions for a multifunctional machine for subsurface top-dressing with mineral nitrogen fertilisers, sowing catch crops, chemical and mechanical weed control, and water and climate protection in maize cultivation”

Operational Group “KU – MASZ” (agreement no. 000103.DDD.6509.00189.2022.10)

aimed at designing and building a prototype multifunctional machine for subsurface top-dressing with mineral nitrogen fertilisers, undersowing catch crops, and chemical and mechanical weed control in maize cultivation. A further objective is to improve maize yields and soil properties, protect soil from water and wind erosion, and protect water and the climate by incorporating mineral nitrogen fertilisers and the seeds of undersown crops (stubble catch crops) into the soil to regenerate it following mineral fertilisation and pesticide use.

Co-financed by the European Union under the “Cooperation” measure Rural Development Programme 2014–2020
