Together for Jakub: please support our pupil and his family
Today we want to share with you the story of one of our students, Jacob. It's a story of courage, perseverance and unity, but it's also a story of a family in need of support.
Jacob is a lively young man who recently experienced his youth as a student at our school. But on September 16th, 2023, that all changed. Jakub was diagnosed with RLS in Białystok because of what seemed to be harmless symptoms - vomiting, headaches, and dizziness while pioneering. These were only the initial symptoms, which quickly turned into a real nightmarish mystery.
Two weeks earlier, Jakub had reported an asymmetrical smile and worsening hearing in his right ear. His parents immediately began fighting for their son’s health and consulted several specialists, but the answers were not reassuring. Everything changed on 20 September 2023, when Jakub was transferred to the Central Children’s Clinical Hospital in Warsaw. There he was diagnosed with a tumour of the right cerebellopontine angle.
Jakub and his family now face difficult challenges and a long path of treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and rehabilitation at the Warsaw hospital. Not only is it a huge emotional challenge, but it's also a huge financial burden.
As a school community, we cannot remain indifferent to the fate of Jacob and his family. That's why we appeal to all of you for your support. A special program has been organized to help Jacob and his family cope with this difficult situation.
Your support can make a huge difference. Every penny donated to this download, every post shared on social media, every word of support we can pass on is enormously important.
