The inaugural meeting of the TERRA (Towards Education open badges system to Reach employability in Regenerative Agriculture) project was held in Turin, Italy, on 4-5 February 2024. The meeting was hosted by the Italian partners CIOFS-FP and eConsulenza, and attended by representatives of all 10 partner organisations from Spain, Italy, Poland, Greece, Switzerland and the European Commission.
The aim of the TERRA project is to improve the existing model of training in regenerative agriculture by developing and validating an open-label microcredit system. The project will also create an open source platform for sharing and recognising the skills and competences acquired by farmers, agricultural workers and VET trainers and trainees in regenerative agriculture across Europe.
The inaugural meeting was an opportunity for the partners to get to know each other, present their roles and responsibilities in the project and discuss the main objectives, activities and expected results. The meeting also discussed aspects related to project management, quality assurance, dissemination and exploitation of results, as well as ethical and legal issues related to the project.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the university, including Dr. Ireneusz Żuchowski and Igor Skrodzki, who represented the Polish partner organization MANS in the field. Their participation was important for enriching discussions on the academic perspective and the involvement of universities in the context of international cooperation.
The partners agreed on the next steps and deadlines for the implementation of the project and scheduled another international meeting to be held in June 2024. The meeting was fruitful and successful and the partners expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to the project.
