On Saturday, October 19, 2024, in Auli im. Prof. Edward Wróbel at the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża, held the inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025. The host of the event was Rector MANS, Dr. inż. Ireneusz Żuchowski, Prof. MANS. Unfortunately, due to health problems, President Mans, Dr. Dr. h.c. Roman Engler, he couldn't attend the ceremony.
The celebration began with the song "Gaude Mater", which gave the event a heightened character. Both the anthem and the whole musical setting of the event were prepared by a team from the Cologne Centre for Culture and Sport, who emphasized the unique mood of this academic holiday with its presence and professionalism. JM Rector Dr. Ing then spoke. Ireneusz Żuchowski, Prof. MANS, who stressed in his speech the importance of international scientific cooperation and directions for the development of the Academy. On behalf of the President, Dr hab. dr h.c. Roman Engler, Rector also gave warm words of support and wishes to students and the entire academic community.
One of the most important moments of the ceremony was immaturing new students who became full members of the academic community from that day on. The ceremony was accompanied by the traditional academic anthem "Gaudeamus Igitur", which also performed a team from Kolna. Then a special moment took place – the presentation of the title of Honorary Professor of the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża, professor of engineer Jozef Krilk, which emphasized the rank and respect that the university has for prominent personalities of the world of science.
During the ceremony, the Rector's scholarships for outstanding students were also awarded. The representative of the Student Government thanked the university authorities for their support and expressed readiness on behalf of the students to continue active cooperation for the benefit of the university.
The keynote of the inauguration was the inaugural lecture entitled History of the disintegration of dendromas in the agricultural and forestry sector, delivered by Prof. Ing. Jozef Krilka, PhD., Ing. Paed. IGIP, Vice-President for Science and Research from the Technical University of Zwolen. Professor Krilek presented the topic of mechanics and dendromas processing technology, raising great interest among listeners, especially in the context of innovation in the agricultural and forestry sector.
The opening of the 2024/2025 Academic Year at MANS was not only an occasion to celebrate the next stage in the university's development, but also a time for reflection on science, technological progress and the role of academia in today's world.
