The International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża has once again become a meeting place for youth, science and business. About 700 students from 15 schools from all over Poland participated in the second edition of the Educational and Orientation Panel “Science – Work – Education”.
The event was organised as part of the university's activities aimed at supporting young people in their choice of educational and vocational pathways and better matching education to the needs of the labour market.
Practical knowledge and contact with employers
The panel provided a unique opportunity for students to meet directly with lecturers, experts and representatives of companies and institutions collaborating with the university. Participants were not only able to learn about the MANS educational offer but also what skills are currently sought by employers.
The programme included numerous workshops, lectures and presentations covering a wide thematic range – from agriculture and construction, to logistics and forensics, to modern technologies.
Modern technologies and future directions
There was great interest in presenting innovative technological solutions, including the use of drones in agriculture. The students were able to see how modern tools support, among other things, spraying, fertilisation or crop management in difficult field conditions.
As pointed out by the rector of MANS, Dr Ing. Ireneusz Żuchowski, the purpose of the event is not only to promote universities, but above all to consciously direct young people to professions that are crucial for the development of the economy.
Education close to the labour market
The Panel on Science – Work – Education shows how important cooperation between universities and the economic environment is. Through such initiatives, young people have the opportunity to learn about the reality of work in different industries and better prepare for entering the labour market.
High attendance and positive feedback from participants confirm that events of this type are needed and an important element of modern education.
"UPSKILLING" project The event is carried out within the framework of the “UPSKILLING” project, which aims to develop the competences of students and students and adapt the educational offer to the current needs of the labour market.
