Meeting with the Minister of Science and Higher Education in Białystok

On 13 May 2024, a meeting of the rectors of the university from the Podlaskie Voivodeship with the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dariusz Wieczorek, took place at the headquarters of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Polytechnic of Bialystok. The main topics discussed at this event were the challenges facing the higher education and science sector and the prospects for their development.

Minister Dariusz Wieczorek presented the government's plans and strategies for supporting higher education and the development of science in Poland. He stressed the importance of innovation, research and international cooperation as key elements in raising the competitiveness of Polish universities on the world stage. Discussions also included research funding, the modernisation of educational infrastructure and the introduction of new training programmes tailored to labour market needs.

The rectors of universities in the Podlaskie region had the opportunity to present their observations and proposals on the functioning of the higher education system and to share experiences and challenges they face on a daily basis. The meeting was also attended by the Rector of MANS, Dr Ing. Ireneusz Żuchowski, who actively participated in the discussions, representing our university.

The meeting was an important step towards strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The event concluded with a summary and the announcement of further initiatives aimed at supporting and developing higher education in the Podlaskie region. All parties expressed their willingness to continue the dialogue and cooperation on improving the quality of education and research in Poland.
