Traditionally for many years, on 06 June 2025, students of the 4th semester of part-time engineering studies together with the 3rd semester of part-time master's studies in Agriculture took part in fieldwork as part of the 'Polish Days'.

The field workshops were organized by the Variety Assessment Experimental Station in Krzyzewie and the Variety Assessment Experimental Plant in Marianowo.

Field exercises aimed at introducing students to the diversity of new crop varieties and their agrotechnology and conservation. Classes were held within the MANS subjects: Plant breeding and seed production and General agriculture.

The students listened to the lectures with great interest. The first lecture on 'Why qualified seed material should be used' was given by Prof. Ing. Radosław Radulski, an employee of Strzelce Plant Breeding Sp. z o.o. The IHAR group. The second lecture on 'O the possibilities of co-financing qualified seed material' was presented by Łukasz Orzechowski and Anna Ksepka-Mieczkowska from ARiMR. Arkadiusz Kalinowski, director of the SDOO in Krzyżwiewo, discussed the principles of the Registered Variety Experimentation system and the List of Recommended Varieties.

On the official side, students and guests were introduced to experimental plantings of spring and autumn cereals, potatoes and legumes, where SDOO and ZDOO specialists presented a collection of varieties under the SDO system. The present representatives of the companies, who presented new products and their application in modern agriculture, shared the results of the experiments carried out at the SDOO site in Krzyzewo and Mariano.

In their free time, the students spoke with representatives of companies that presented a rich collection of cereals and other crops, new multi-component mineral fertilizers and presented their market offerings and practical agrotechnical solutions for individual crop cultivation.

We would like to thank all the organizers, and in particular the Director of SDOO Krzyzewo Mgr. Mr Arkadiusz Kalinowski and the Director of ZDOO Lukasz Żochowski, who, as usual, was very kind to share his knowledge and experience in the field of farming technology and the methodology of the experiments carried out, as well as a common grill.
