On 21-22 April 2026, Murcia, Spain, became the centre of a dialogue on the professionalization of support for people with autism in higher education. Representatives of the international In4Aut consortium, including Dr. Ing. Ireneusz Żuchowski and Igor Skrodzki, representing MANS, met to summarise progress, finalise key diagnostic tools and approve the work plan for the final phase of the project.

Robust foundations: WP2 Working Package Finalisation

The main point of the meeting was to conclude work on a comprehensive framework for designing and implementing inclusive education. Although this process required a lengthy analytical phase due to the need for in-depth data validation and international consistency of materials, the results are impressive.

So far, it has been:

  • Develop and translate a preliminary version of the In4Aut Toolkit, which is now available for download on the project website.
  • Identify and describe more than 5 innovative good practices and teaching methods.
  • Implement stakeholder panels with 42 experts already participating (12 at MANS, 14 at UMU and 16 at LUISS), bringing the consortium closer to the target of 50 participants.

Over 75% of respondents found the Toolkit to be a comprehensive tool and highly useful in everyday academic practice.

In4Aut Course Development (WP3)

In parallel with the finalisation of the theoretical framework, partners led by LUISS are working intensively on the development of a dedicated training course. The methodology and working versions of the four training modules have already been prepared at this stage. The following months will be devoted to their digitisation and the accreditation process at partner universities.

Successes in communication and project scope (WP5)

The In4Aut project has achieved excellent results in the area of dissemination of results under the supervision of inCREA. A new, fully digitally accessible (WCAG compliant) website is available at: in4aut.mans.edu.pl has become the main source of knowledge about the project, with more than 1500 visits.

The effectiveness of the action is confirmed by hard data:

  • The number of publications on the project exceeded 40, well ahead of the original target (25 publications).
  • The reach of the actions on social media and through direct channels has already reached several thousand recipients.
  • The project's Facebook profile has amassed nearly 500 regular followers.

What's ahead of us?

The meeting in Murcia set a clear path for the completion of the project in April 2027. The next few months will see workshops for trainers organised by the University of Murcia (UMU) and pilot implementations of the course at partner universities. It will culminate in a grand final conference to be held in Italy.

Through the involvement of partners from Poland, Spain, Greece and Italy, In4Aut is truly changing the face of European higher education by making it more open and autistic-friendly.
