10 May 2024 students of the third semester of the Master's degree in Agriculture from Subject Modern methods used in breeding, evaluation and agrotechnology; and Students of the first semester of a Master's degree in Agriculture Agricultural studies (laboratory studies) visited the Institute of Plant Breeding and Acclimatization I was in Radzov. The students had the opportunity to listen to two lectures. jars only, and ‘New genomic techniques — directional mutagenicity in plant husbandry for sustainable agriculture’. After a part of the lecture there was a visit to laboratories, where The students were given a hands-on introduction to research, GMO control and the methods of storing gene resources - the gene bank. In detail: Each laboratory was discussed and presented to the students. The laboratory Functional genomics, dealing with the function of genes and physiological processes shaping important useful characteristics related to yield and technological properties cereal grains. This facility studies the mechanisms of plant responses to pathogens fungi and viruses using RNA interference, gene editing, and nanoparticles. Laboratory of Genetical Control of Modified Organisms develop and validate methods of analysis for GMOs. Deals with detection, identification and evaluation GMO content in seed, food and feed in accordance with current requirements The legal ones. The National Centre for Plant Genetic Resources is collecting populations and varieties of crops and wild plants threatened by genetic erosion; and by describing and evaluating them. Running a central long-term plant storage facility gene resources in the form of seeds (Polish Genie Bank). It develops genomically and transscriptomically researching the gene resources of utility plants. The laboratories have made a huge impression, they've shed light on the issues of genetic modification and plant breeding techniques for sustainable farming. We would like to thank the Institute for warm reception and interesting lectures.
