Our seniors have joined the project! Thank you to the Lomzin Self-Government Forum, for being a Project Partner! On Sunday we returned from a week's stay in Portugal. We were hosted by Mrs. Sylvia Stefaniak in the beautiful town of Barcelos. During the past week, participants had the opportunity to visit a study center, observe the activities of seniors in Fatima during Holy Communion, see Porto, located on the banks of the Duero River, and visit the historic city of Braga. The activities were combined with the learning of English and Portuguese culture. The main point of departure was the Good Practice Seminar organised by EduPlus as part of the project tasks. The importance of diverse cultural stimuli, tolerance and interest in different views were taken into account. An important point was also the motivation of seniors for independent intellectual activity. The action was organised as part of the Erasmus+ co-financed project "Creativity in the Late Age – Sensitiveness", implemented from 1 June 2021 to 31 August 2022. The leader of the project is the Łomżyński Regional Forum, while partners are: EduPlus – European Centre for Education and Skills Development, Lda – Portugal; Higher School of Agribusiness in Łomża – Poland; FAV Service gGmbH – Germany. The main objective of the project is the personal development of adults, including seniors, and their acquisition of skills and competences for life in the information society. The specific objectives are to create space for creativity, increase openness to diversity, promote intergenerational activities and disseminate knowledge related to creativity and innovation, build and develop intergenerational dialogue through culture, combat stereotypes and mutual prejudices between young people and the elderly, and create group bonds through awareness-raising. The participants in the project are adults, senior citizens, who want to be mentors - advisors in a broad field of creativity. The project results are intended for all stakeholders interested in early preparing citizens for the coming "third century" – NGOs, local authorities and businesses.
