Practical education is crucial for the quality of future personnel in agriculture and animal husbandry. Last weekend, MANS students had the opportunity to participate in a special meeting with the team ProCare, which presented the reality of daily work related to professional hoof trimming and cattle welfare.
During the class, the students learned not only the theoretical basis of hoof trimming, but most importantly its practical dimension. ProCare experts demonstrated how to assess hoof condition, which tools are used, and how correct hoof trimming affects cows’ health, comfort and productivity, as well as the long-term profitability of the farm.
The meeting was interactive. Students actively asked questions, shared their observations and confronted academic knowledge with professional practice. This type of exchange of experience allows a better understanding of the specificities of the profession and the challenges faced by professionals working in the field on a daily basis.
The event was a valuable experience for both parties. For students – as an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge and look at the future profession in a realistic context. For the ProCare team – as an opportunity to share experience and build awareness of the importance of animal welfare in modern agriculture.
We thank the students and staff of MANS for their openness, commitment and active participation. Such initiatives make a real contribution to the development of the industry and to the better training of future professionals. I'll see you at the next educational meeting.
