COBORU conference at SDOO Krzyżewo

On 28 October this year, a scientific conference organized by COBOR SDOO in Krzyzewie was held at the Higher School of Agribusiness in Łomża. The conference was a summary of the project entitled Ecological management system as one of the factors improving soil fertility and biological activity. The project was implemented in partnership with the Provincial Plant Protection and Seed Inspectorate in Białystok, the University of Agribusiness in Łomża and the Agrocentrum Group. During the meeting, speakers tried to present how to preserve all elements of organic management, including proper crop rotation involving structural plants and increasing soil organic matter content; organic fertilisation with farm-produced fertilizers to maintain soil fertility; selection of plant species and varieties based on local populations and varieties taking into account their resistance to disease; mineral fertilisation limited to rock flour; use of biological preparations and plant extracts; use of agrotechnical methods to combat diseases and pests will contribute to the production of the product. This is a real opportunity to increase the farm's income and export organic products. It also creates opportunities for the processing of organic products through the development of processing networks. This conference was mainly aimed at young people in secondary schools and farmers who want to learn more about organic farming. The meeting was also attended by students from the 7th semester of agriculture with a specialisation in agricultural counselling as part of an organic farming course.
